Adam Chan
Software Engineer & Community Builder
As a Developer Relations practitioner at Weaviate, I get to dive deep into enterprise-scale vector search technologies with a broader community of developers. My work allows me to connect me with diverse developer communities, helping them leverage cutting-edge tools. I studied at the University of Toronto and have always been passionate about creating and building.
Beyond coding, I thrive on bringing developers together, fostering communities where we can collaborate on cool projects and showcase our collective talents. I see myself as an engineer at heart and a community builder by passion.
In my Developer Relations role, I help companies connect with developers, guiding them to leverage new tools and technologies in diverse environments, from personal hobby projects to large-scale enterprise systems.
My Work, Speaking & Community Building
Founder at Developer Events
As the founder of Developer Events, I specialize in crafting engaging experiences that bridge the gap between innovative technology companies and vibrant developer communities. We organize impactful developer engagement programs, workshops, and hackathons, such as the recent "[Zero Gravity] Agentic RAG Hack Night" These events bring together developers to explore cutting-edge technologies, leveraging tools from partners like Weaviate, Unstructured, Ragas, and others to build innovative solutions.
Sharing Knowledge & Explaining AI
I'm passionate about sharing insights on cutting-edge technologies and demystifying complex AI concepts for the broader developer community. Whether it's presenting on topics like "Enterprise scale vector search powered by Weaviate" at industry events (such as those at the AWS GenAI Loft) or breaking down the intricacies of Agentic RAG architectures, my goal is to help developers understand and implement advanced AI solutions.
Organizing Community Initiatives
One such initiative was co-organizing the "Calibrate Hack Day Micro-Conference" at the AWS GenAI Loft. This event, in partnership with leading organizations like Comet and Weaviate, focused on the critical theme of calibrating AI applications in production, bringing together builders and experts to explore best practices for robust, enterprise-ready AI systems.
